OFFICIAL: Chelsea sign Drinkwater on 5-year deal for reported €38m

Chelsea have signed midfielder Danny Drinkwater in a last-gasp €38m deal from Leicester. The Blues' failed in their bid to take Ross Barkley from Everton with the England man changing his mind on the switch after completing a medical. But they have secured the services of Drinkwater, 27, who has been on Antonio Conte's radar throughout the summer. Leicester announced the fee is a club record sale for them. The move reunites Drinkwater with N'Golo Kante, who he formed an irresistible partnership with as the Foxes won the Premier League in 2015-16. The Foxes said: "Leicester City wishes to express its gratitude to Danny for his contribution to the team’s achievements over the past five years, as he leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the Football Club."
