Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele has been ruled out for up to four months after rupturing the tendon in his femoral bicep in his left thigh against Getafe . The France international, who was making his first La Liga start since his big money move from Borussia Dortmund this summer, lasted just 29 minutes at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez as he had to be replaced by ex-Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu. At the time it was reported that Dembele was set to undergo further tests on his left leg and now the extent of the injury has been revealed via the Catalan giants’ official website and the winger is set for a lengthy period on the sidelines. Liverpool have denied that Philippe Coutinho has handed in a transfer request. Barcelona have had two bids rejected for the Brazilian, with Liverpool insisting he isn't for sale. The club's FSG owners issued a statement on Friday, insisting there was no chance of Coutinho moving on this month. But Sky Sports claimed shortly afterwards that Coutinho had handed in a formal transfer request. The Liverpool statement read: "We wish to offer clarity as regards our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho. "The club’s definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes." Source: All Football

Sky Sports in England has stated the Brazilian has informed the club of his intentions and wishes to leave Anfield , although these reports are questioned by other journalists. James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo and Goal.com have responded that their sources at the Merseyside club insist they are unaware of such a request.
