Robert Carlos: 'fantastic' Gabriel Jesus will be a man city star

Brazil legend Roberto Carlos has backed compatriot Gabriel Jesus to become a star at Manchester City.

The 19-year-old made his Premier League debut on Saturday against Tottenham, coming off the bench for an impressive cameo, having signed for Pep Guardiola's side from Palmeiras.

Former World Cup winner Roberto Carlos believes that Jesus' City debut only showed glimpses of what he is capable of, and feels he will only improve once he properly settles in England.

"Gabriel will be very important for Manchester City but he needs time to adapt," the 43-year-old told Sky Sports.

"I would ask that people don't put too much pressure on him too soon."

OFFICIAL: Chelsea sign Drinkwater on 5-year deal for reported €38m

Chelsea have signed midfielder Danny Drinkwater in a last-gasp €38m deal from Leicester. The Blues' failed in their bid to take Ross Barkley from Everton with the England man changing his mind on the switch after completing a medical. But they have secured the services of Drinkwater, 27, who has been on Antonio Conte's radar throughout the summer. Leicester announced the fee is a club record sale for them. The move reunites Drinkwater with N'Golo Kante, who he formed an irresistible partnership with as the Foxes won the Premier League in 2015-16.
