Mugabe plans birthday bash while his country suffers.
Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe is planning a lavish 93rd birthday party for himself: over 100,000 participants, over 150 cattle to be slaughtered, and (if past is any indication) a 93 kg cake. His wife Grace will be present and is expected to project herself as his heir apparent.
Party cadres are demanding that each Zimbabwe province raise $25,000 although the real expectation appears to be 10 times that amount.
All this while real Zimbabweans are scraping by, standing in long lines to withdraw cash from ATMs, and the economic crisis has resulted in widespread unemployment.
